Appliance deals, from water filters to the damn fridge
Amazon's appliance department is two shops stuck together. One sells refrigerators and washers. The other, much busier one sells the filters, hoses and replacement parts those machines eat. A lot of what qualifies here day to day comes from the second shop, which is fine — a genuine drop on a filter you replace twice a year is real money — but it means big machines get buried under a pile of damn water filters. How we score appliances
Large appliances have a problem most categories don't: very few of them collect 200 reviews, which is our minimum, so plenty of perfectly good machines never qualify. We don't lower that bar to fill the page. Filters and parts get the same scrutiny as anything else — a "compatible" filter with an invented list price is the oldest trick on this shelf — and any price more than 75% below the product's own 90-day reference is rejected outright as a likely fake discount.

Why is this page mostly filters and parts some days?
Replacement filters and parts are bought far more often than large appliances, so more of them clear the review minimum and qualify on a given day. The machines have their own page, where they don't have to compete with a damn filter.
Are discounted replacement filters worth buying?
A filter discount is only meaningful when it is measured against that filter's own recent selling price rather than its listed reference price. That's the only thing we measure against.
Where are the big-ticket appliance deals?
Large appliances are scanned separately above a minimum price and listed on the Big Appliances page. Same scoring, no filters in the way.
