Damn good beauty deals, honestly scored

Beauty splits into two markets that barely acknowledge each other. Prestige beauty brands commonly operate minimum advertised price policies, which means genuine discounts are rare and shallow. So a 15% reduction on a protected prestige product is a real event worth flagging. Mass-market beauty, meanwhile, discounts constantly and deeply, and a 40% off badge there means very little on its own. Scoring both on raw percentage would tell you nothing useful about either, so we don't.

How we score beauty

We score against each product's own discount history rather than against a fixed percentage threshold, which allows small reductions on price-protected products to score appropriately high. For anything sold by volume — serums, cleansers, shampoo — we work on price per millilitre, since beauty products vary widely in size and headline discounts often reflect a larger format rather than a better rate. Sales rank is weighted heavily, because the category's long tail is dense with listings that mimic established products closely.
