Health and household products are frequently sold in multiple pack sizes, so an advertised discount often reflects a larger pack rather than a lower price per unit. Vitamins, cleaning supplies, paper goods, over-the-counter basics — all of it is bought on repeat, which means the only figure that matters is what you pay per unit over a year. Everything here is scored on that basis.

How we score health and household

We score on price per unit rather than pack price, and factor in Subscribe & Save rates where they apply. For anything with an expiry date we weight pack size cautiously, since bulk purchases only represent genuine value when the quantity can realistically be used before expiry — a two-year supply of anything at a great unit rate is not a great deal if half of it is binned. Sales rank is weighted heavily throughout, which matters more here than in most categories.
